RADICAL ACTS: A performance festival

Asia Stewart: Retail Therapy

Emulating the techniques Man Ray used to construct his sculpture “Obstruction,” Asia Stewart will combine translucent plastic hangers and donated clothing to create a dress. A recording of Stewart reading a narrative essay on consumer culture will accompany her actions. In an attempt to challenge and invert the capitalist desire to accumulate goods, Stewart's "Retail Therapy" questions why it is that we collect so many "things."

AND

Hector Canonge: ALTIBAJOS (Ups And Downs)

ALTIBAJOS (Ups & Downs),  is an allegorical embodiment of transformation, denouncement, and resilience making a call for radical change in these times of social conflict and inadequacy. The dance-theater-performance calls for a reflection on ancestral heritage, cultural integration, and identity politics.
