In kyung lee: Last night I dreamed of you
November 10 - 12, 2016
Choreographer In Kyung Lee shares a new piece that navigates the audience through a personal meditation on dream and despair. Bodies appear and disappear in distorted shapes, sometimes exhaustively repeating a movement and at other times holding sculptural stillness. The piece manifests an aesthetic of Korean traditional dance and poetry – sophisticated slowness and subtlety – as well as rigorous meditation through physicality. Like the blinking of eyes, images continually flash in and out, creating an in-between state of disturbing yet seductive dream and uncertain reality.
Performers include Cat Wagner, Kristopher Pourzal, Léla Groom, Louise Benkelman and the choreographer herself. Curated by Stacy Grossfield.
