comfort dogs: live from the pink house

Set in the skeleton of a pink hurricane-torn house a band of dogs walk around of the inside and try to make sense of humankind's need for comfort as they read letters from the audience asking for solace An ensemble of musicians and live dogs will howl, scotch and poop their way through an evening as the inadvertently ask the question: Who nurtures the nurturer?

William Burke is a playwright and director living in Brooklyn. Recent productions include the food was terrible at The Bushwick Starr (Time Out Critics Pick), FURRY! at JACK, DAY!Night?fuck… at JACK (Target Margin,) Explodity at The Bushwick Starr (Target Margin), devil wants his hat back at The Bushwick Starr and the Black Swan Lab at the Oregon Shakepeare Festival. Other plays: The Yurt, Hemingburger, KEENERS!!, this might catch fire in a TRAGIC way, Fire Liberty and Fuck this Typewriter. He studied Playwriting at Brooklyn College under Mac Wellman, Erin Courtney and Anne Washburn. Burke is a member of the writing performance group Wook Taut Majesty with Kate Benson, Jessica Almasy and Cara Scarmack. He is a co-curator for the Starr Reading Series at the Bushwick Starr and a proud Target Margin Associated Artist.
